Ford had to essentially tear down the wall surfaces of its factory to handle need for the electric F-150.
Darren Palmer informed Insider that Ford was shocked by the number of orders for the Lightning.
He said that meeting clients’ expectations was a “huge item of work.”
Ford’s F-150 vehicle looks set to maintain its crown as America’s very successful vehicle for the 41st consecutive year.
After launching an electric version in 2014, it got virtually 200,000 orders for the Lightning opened up and had to close its order book last December in a proposal to catch up.
“That stunned us– I assume it amazed a great deal in the sector, how all set people already were for electric lorries,” says Darren Palmer, who heads up Ford’s electrical car (EV) program.
